How to operate a Mauser C96 Semi Automatic Pistol

Unloading Old Magazine

1. Ensure Firearm Safety

Before attempting to reload the firearm, make sure it is pointed in a safe direction, and the safety is engaged if applicable. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.

2. Eject the Empty Magazine

If the pistol has a detachable magazine, press the magazine release button, typically located on the grip, and remove the empty magazine.

3. Check the Chamber

Visually and physically inspect the chamber to ensure it is empty. Keep the pistol pointed in a safe direction at all times.

4. Prepare Ammunition

Obtain the appropriate ammunition for your Mauser C96. The Mauser C96 typically uses 7.63x25mm Mauser or 9mm Parabellum ammunition.

5. Load the Magazine

If you have a detachable magazine, load it with the desired number of rounds according to its capacity. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's recommended ammunition capacity for your specific magazine.

6. Insert the Magazine

Insert the loaded magazine back into the pistol's grip until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is fully seated.

Firing the Pistol

7. Rack the Slide

With a firm grip on the pistol, pull back and release the slide (also known as cocking or chambering) to load a round into the chamber. The pistol is now ready to fire.

8. Aim and Fire

Point the firearm in a safe direction, align the sights with your target, and gently squeeze the trigger to fire. Always follow proper firearms safety rules when handling and firing a weapon.

9. Eject Empty Casings

After firing, the empty cartridge casing will be automatically ejected. This pistol uses a fixed magazine or stripper clip for feeding, so there's no need to manually eject a magazine.

10. Repeat as Needed

Continue to aim, fire, and reload as necessary until you have completed your shooting activity.
